For the past several years, there was a little boy who had his struggles He overcame those struggles, and was starting to grow into a young successful man. The young man had everything he ever wanted; a beautiful girlfriend, friends he called family, and of course the support of his loving family. One day, his luck seemed to change. Him and his girlfriend broke up, he lost those friends he called family, and he came home to find out that his loving family was crumbling right before his eyes. The boy didn't know what to do or who he could talk to. He went into a state of depression and he was losing weight at an unhealthy rate. The young man cried himself to sleep for weeks begging for answers. Finally the boy went to his mentor seeking advice. The boy was reassured from his mentor that his life was going to be bright and successful even if things seemed dark and gloomy. The young man took his mentor's advice and continued to live his life until he made his dreams become a reality.
Sometimes in life we go through some dark times, some not so bad, others that make you sob until you can't no more. My point is that there is light and the end of the long dark tunnel. Keeping pushing through and continue to have a smile on your face, even if you want to cry. Continue to work hard and stride to make your dreams a reality. In the end remember that you will always have support and I will be the first to say I have your back.

The Boy Who Wanted to Show Love
There once was a little boy who grew up in a rough household. His parents seemed to always disagree on everything and they would get into arguments over the smallest things. The fights would get so bad, the whole family would be yelling at each other and the father would leave for hours. One day, the little boy woke up to see that his father was gone. The little boy ran through the house and out to the front door screaming "Daddy Where Are You?!" The little boy couldn't locate his father, but he did find a note on the kitchen table. The note that the little boy found was written by his dad and it read;
Dear Son:
I am writing this letter to you because I will be going away for awhile. I have done some bad things that have hurt your mother and we need some separation to fix the issues. I don't know how long I will be a way from home, but I need you to promise me two things. Please help your mother when she needs it. She is a strong woman, but sometimes she needs a helping hand. Second, as you grow up to become a successful and charming man, always be loyal to your future wife. Treat her as if she is a princess. Show her how much you love her and always be there for her. Don't run away when things get tough because it is easier to deal with issues head on when you have someone there by your side. Above all, when you tell your future wife that you love her, make sure you mean it. I am proud to call you my son. I love you and I hope to see you become the man I know you will be.
-Daddy
Tears where dripping down the boys face because he realized his father wasn't coming back. After re-reading the note, he wiped away his tears and said out loud; "I won't let you down daddy".
Now that boy could have thrown that note away and forget everything his father said, but he didn't. The boy loved his dad so much, even if he did do something wrong. As far as I know, that boy has kept to his daddy's promise, but sometimes he has his struggles. The boy doesn't understand why people take advantage of the love he gives or even throw it away. At the end of the day however the boy understands that there are people out there who show the same type of love that he does.
So what is the morale of this story? First, open your hearts out to everyone, even if they don't want to open up theirs. Second, cherish and care for those around you because with one mistake, they could disappear from your life. Above all, when you say "I Love You", make sure you mean it, because love is something that you don't mess around with.

Hiding Isn't The Answer
There once was a little boy who had two best friends who meant the world to him. They would always eat lunch together, be on the same kickball team, and would just enjoy each others company. One day the little boy started noticing that his two friends weren't hanging out with him as much, and as days continued on, the two best friends didn't want anything to do with the little boy because he wasn't a part of the "cool crowd". The boy was upset with his friends actions and felt lonely. He didn't know who to hang out with, or even call a best friend. The boy barely talked to anyone, and eventually hid from society without trying to fix his friendship with his two best friends. The boy grew up hating people and never trusted anyone again.
As you can infer, that wasn't a very happy story, but there is a huge moral that we can all learn, including myself. When there are troubled times in our lives, human instinct is to avoid the issue at all cost, but that just leads to more problems. Has there ever been a time where you ran away from an issue, no matter how big or small it was? The best way to handle troubled times is to go after them head on. What that little boy should have done was talked to his two best friends and figure out what happened to their friendships.
We all learn some life lessons, and I just learned one at 2:43 on a Monday morning and I believe that you as the readers should be taught what I am just realizing. You can't go running away when things get tough. Life is tough, there is no question about it and when you let the tough times hold you back to your potential in life, you as a person crumble. The best way to handle any issue is to take it one day at a time. It's been said that time heals all, and eventually it does, but you can't let troubled times change you as a person. Lately I have been running away and hiding from my issues and in all honesty it has changed me in a negative way. I have also realized that this negative impact isn't only affecting me, but it is affecting the people I care about as well. As you the reader, I challenge you not to follow the same path I have gone down, but instead, follow a path of forgiveness and faith. Forgive those who have hurt you intentionally and unintentionally because dwelling on the pain doesn't get you anywhere. When life seems at its worst, you just need to have a little faith. I always believed, once you hit rock bottom, the only way is up. I leave you with a quote by Martin Luther King Jr;
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that".

Remember, Anything is Possible
Well it has been three months since I last did a blog and in these past three months a lot has changed. One thing that hasn't changed is to spread the word that anyone can do anything. Tomorrow I start what I consider the next step of making my biggest goal in life a reality. I head down to Atlanta, Georgia, where I will start an internship called the National Society of Leadership and Success. My internship is to start a chapter or organization based off the society at my college, Keystone College. Now many may be thinking that I am just doing this to make a name for myself, but that isn't even close. I wanted this internship because I want to help people. I want to give back to the school, the faculty, staff and colleagues that have believed in me. This internship is my thank you for every single person out there that said "Mike, I believe in you." So for all those who believe that they can't live their dreams, remember, anything is possible.

What's Your Motivation?
Motivation is defined as the reasons why one acts or behaves in a particular way. Motivation is that extra push that helps us reach a certain point. Why is motivation important you ask? Well with out motivation, many people wouldn't be where they are at today. Just ask the little boy from North Carolina. At an early age the boy found what motivated him. They are three simple words, but these three words keep him going. These three words are Never Give Up. Why did these words motivated him? Growing up this young boy was put down and was told that he would never go anywhere in life. There was a point at his young age if life was really worth it. As he thought about the words his peers would say about him, he remembered what his old math teacher once said; Giving up on a math problem is like giving up on life. When you give up once, you continue to follow that pattern. Never give up because one day that math problem will be easy to solve and one day life will get easier to handle. So the boy never gave up. He continued to pursue his dreams and today he is living a successful life. Find what motivates you whether it is three words, a sentence, or someone in your life and let that motivator take you to make your dreams become a reality.
